Life. We often go through it without a second thought about where we came from, where we are and where we’d like to be in the future. Before we know it, we’re old, tired, grumpy and with no shortage of regrets about what we should have done while still young and capable. The idea of keeping a journal through my own blog website has been on my mind for over a decade now. This was meant to be a journal not only for us but especially for our kids to reflect back on as they grow. A scrapbook of memories they can share with their kids someday. I’ve seen other families do this over the years on YouTube channels and blogs and thought to be such a wonderful idea. My goal back then was to start immediately after Grayson’s birth but unfortunately as the years passed, I kept putting it off. Now six and a half years later, I’m extremely late but this time I’m fully committed. A website was finally born to keep things organized and accessible. “S & S Adventures” will allow me to put down my thoughts with pictures to memorialize our family’s lives, travels and adventures. The temporary move to Poland was an obvious starting point for the blog since this would be a huge life event for all of us. However, we ended up starting the blog with a trip to Florida a couple weeks prior since we had such a great time there and it was our kids’ first airplane flight. We’ve gone on many overnight camping trips with the kids in the past but this was our first mini adventure as a family far from home. Even though the blog plan was in place, I didn’t officially start writing about it until several months later in November this year.

On December 10th, Sylwia and I celebrated our thirteenth wedding anniversary. We treated ourselves to some good BBQ from the Crazy Pig in Tarnów.

December 12th is my birthday and I must say that this year at forty-four I feel great, generally speaking. I never celebrated my own birthdays in the past and this year was no exception. We started off the day with a hearty breakfast and then Sylwia and the boys gave me a nice birthday card, personalized by Graysonek. He’s such a thoughtful boy when he wants to be.

Marzena treated me to a birthday dinner from a restaurant of my choosing so we decided on sushi delivered straight to the condo. The boys were sound asleep by then.

A few days later I met up with Sebastian for some pizza and beer.

On a side note, Sylwia's uncle, Wujek Krzysiek has a woodworking business and was able to make a custom living-room table for us. It turned out great.
